Need help regarding PMLA ltvp assessment

1) her source of income is managing a online store which she have enough for her rent and daily expenses. Her aunt live with her own family and she lives alone.

2) I have submitted PMLA again and emailed in my NoA for the past two years, our ROM dates and proof that I have a HDB ready this year. I wanted to let the officer in charge know that in any case they are worried i am not able to take care of my future spouse i am fully capable. I hope this help.

3) if everything else fail, I will really have to consider looking for a job in thailand because I really love my girlfriend and want to start a family soon.

I can understand the desire to start a family soon given both of your ages. If you’ve already secured your singles scheme HDB flat, I’m not sure what the MOP rules are - can you immediately rent it out if moving abroad? If yes, and assuming your CPF is enough to service the loan, you should have enough rental income to comfortably move in with your GF in Thailand, even without a job. Once married, you’d be eligible for an O visa in Thailand which can be extended annually. That would free you up to explore other options you might not have considered in your life. Just a thought.

Bringing her to Singapore in May is a good idea. If she get called into the room for an interview and rejected straight away. You know she is somehow "blacklisted" for entry. LTVP approval has a 0% chance.

2) In the PMLA application, there isn't any questions indicating if I have received any financial gains from this marriage. The questions might have changed.
3) Yes, I am positive that she have never been to Singapore before. She has been to other countries like Japan and Korea.

@malcontent, really appreciate your alternatives and thinking out of the box.
1) I think i can't rent out my house during the first 5 years of MOP unless I am going overseas to work. Will have to write in a appeal to HDB for such cases.
2) I am prepared to give up my job in Singapore to look for another job in Thailand if all else fail, I just feel that sometimes it is really due to many cases of scam marriages that led to stricter profiling by ICA.

2) Do you think it will be better if i ask her to come to JB then i drive her in? At least I will be beside her if immigration ask or post any question.

I would suggest flying her directly to Singapore. Just to share, my cousin's girlfriend is also Thai and blacklisted when entering Singapore. She was caught and sent back when working in KTV. Her history is also unknown to my cousin.

I actually got approval from MOM prior application of PMLA & Yes, It's probably all in the gov system.

Any idea how she could afford that? Any idea what she did when she went there? Not doubting her, just something you had better know (it might even be asked when she attempts to enter Singapore).

I'm in a similar situation, feel devastated but actually also shocked that our PMLA assessment was rejected as I (foreigner) made upwards of $20K/ month in salary, but have not worked for 1 year now. I am a Canadian national or Chinese descent. Yes my partner (SC) does not make much but all I can think of is the fact that we only met for 2 years.

Not much in our control now except to hope that the LTVP assessment may change if I start working (be it abroad).

@winger7 — high earning potential isn’t going to sway them, and if your SC partner doesn’t have enough to support you both while you’re not working, being denied shouldn’t come as a surprise. They want productive members of society here, and are happy to put the squeeze on anyone who doesn’t maintain that standard. Having Canadian citizenship might make them squeeze you even harder, because you appear to have options that could free up space here for more productive members of society than yourself and your partner. It may sound harsh, but optimizing the limited space here is a priority.

Since we are planning to get married, I suppose, as this thread had previously mentioned, being together for a longer period of time may help, and if she does generate more income though it's her own business that she runs in Singapore. Just a concern that we are not that young anymore (38M / 32F). Would be grateful for any additional advice as well. Thanks again!

hey man, sorry i cant give u a lot of help but i would say im on the same boat as u, my gf is a citizen there and i've been wanting to move there for the past year. I've gone thru the list of agencies on this website and generic websites and like u said - no luck either for me. If uve made up ur mind to move there maybe u can pick up a visa and start looking for jobs once ur physically there cuz for me ive been looking for jobs outside of singapore..

Anyway it is what it is. I dont recommend marrying without pmla approval either. May be you can try to have a direct meeting with ica officer and get some opinions.

2) she did not have any sponsor that did any application of visa. I’m her first Singapore boyfriend and now we are in the midst of planning our marriage. I do plan to bring her to visit Singapore somewhere in Mid May but i am afraid ICA will reject her entry. Can anyone share any inputs on this?

Hi, the similarities I see is between our spouse's income & education level.

But my PMLA did get approved.

A brief background about myself and my wife.
- Both of us are in our 30's now.
- I am a diploma holder & earn less than half of your mentioned income.
- My wife was an ex SG-WP holder & from the Nail salon/Beauty industry.
- When I applied PMLA we have known each other for a little over 3 years
- She was at-the-time unemployed at the point of PMLA application as she left her previous company so I was truthful to my application & state that she was unemployed.
- She dropped out during secondary school but was unable to locate any form of primary school education cert sort of proof so her I have selected "No formal education" under PMLA.

Therefore given the circumstances of financial & educational level of your gf. That is how I feel that your rejection was due to you knowing your gf not long enough.

In my honest opinion, if you are really in love.
- You can wait a little longer before applying PMLA again, or
- Get married & apply for LTVP without LLE (Not recommended)

I don't think there is a clear guideline how ICA evaluates individuals, just declare truthfully.

I have a sneaking suspicion that much like the HDB policy, they kind of “give up on you” ever getting married once you turn 35. If my suspicion is true, then being 41 could put you at an advantage

The hesitation on PMLA could be to check whether you are being taken advantage of by this Thai-Malaysian girl. Again, just my suspicion based on what I’ve observed over the decades.
