EP holder applying for PR, can he/she apply PR together with common law partner?

Post by itsmeinsingapore » Tue, 13 Jan 2026 3:38 pm

Hi all,

My partner has an EP and I have an LTVP issued by the MOM. We are considering applying for PR, but when we checked the application, there was no option to include a common-law partner.

Does this mean that common-law partners are not allowed to be included in the PR application? I’m currently unable to work due to the LTVP limitations, and it has been difficult to find an EP sponsor at the moment.

What would be the best way to handle this situation? Should my partner apply for PR first and then sponsor me for an LTVP, or LTVP+ and then apply for a PLOC to work? PR is not my priority—I just want to be able to work.

Thanks :)

You need to be legally married if the applicant wants to add their spouse or children to the PR application.
