Travel mates to Rainforest World Music Fest

Hello..

Anybody interested in going to Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching this July? I am looking for travel mates. My idea is to fly from JB, and stay at Damai Rainforest Resort, but of course I am open for suggestion.

Tara, it is a three day events (8th to 10th July)- Would you interested to do 3D2N and coming back to Spore on Sunday?

Hello..
Thanks for the responses! So far we have you two plus another guy.

I dont have concrete plan yet, but here are my ideas:

Friday 8 July
- Cab from Singapore to JB airport
- Air Asia flight to Kuching
- Cab to accomodation
Monday 11 July: return.

Here are some additional information I have:
- Air Asia Flight schedules (both ways) are in the morning (7ish and 9ish)
- Refer to last year's performance schedule, the show started at 730pm and finished at midnite. No performance was held on daytime (but there were workshops in the afternoon).

Thus,
- If you want to watch the Sunday performances, you have to fly back on Monday
- I'd prefer to stay nearby the venue (transportation is a potential problem). And since we are there, why not those log cabins or even tree houses in the mid of the woods?
- I am thinking to do trekking as my days' activities

That's all so far

I suppose each of us can take this in the way that suits individual preference. Me myself dont know yet whether my work required me to be exist on Friday - I might take Saturday flight instead.

Anyway, let me know what you think for now!

What sort of approximate total cost for the weekend do you think will it be cinder?

You would probably want to stay at Holiday Inn Resort Damai Beach, it is just next to the Cultural Village where the event will be. If you stay downtown, going to & fro would be quite a waste of time, since it's only a 3 day event. There are nice beaches & golf courses nearby. Excellent & cheap seafood as well. There will probably be a surcharge for that period tho.

Cabs from SG to JB airport would be abt SGD60, coming back from Senai would be abt RM80.

Cinder, since Damai Rainforest Resort is a walking distance to the Sarawak Cultural Village, where the event will be held, do you know how much the accomodation is per night?

Most likely I will miss the Sunday performance, will leave on Friday(8th) morning and be back to Spore by Sunday.

I hope there are people in this forum would be intereted to explore this yearly event and it gonna be real adventurous for me as this my first trip to East M'sia.

Ladies, I'm looking for someone or more to share a room. The more the merrier!
