Favourite Football/Soccer Teams!

Post by stefania » Thu, 16 Jun 2005 3:20 pm

What football/soccer (whichever you call it) teams do the posters at Singapore Expat forums support? I reckon i'm gonna get plenty of Man Utd fans but anyhoo...

I support Arsenal and AC Milan. And don't even start on how they "underperformed"...... :?

Stefania, You've just opened pandora's box, and out comes the first Red Devil from the box!
I'm a total Red Devil ever since the days King Eric set the English Premier League alight. I won't talk about how Arsenal underperformed this season because United did far worse, but, we're all entitled to our own opinions eh? I watch soccer with a friend who's a scouser and another one who's a gooner. You should come watch soccer with us when the Season starts again.

That which does not Destroy you,
Only makes you stronger.

Fuz, you have no idea how much i miss watching matches with crowds! :( Last year in Australia, i watched the Euros for a whole month at a huge casino with at least a hundred people from all over the world, mostly Europeans. Fantastic feeling! A scouser, two gooners and a manc? Sounds like fun i'd say! :D

Raven, i wonder how you support two teams from the same league. Who do you support when they play each other? And let's forget the Cl for now eh?

Also got a soft spot for my home town team, Aldershot Town FC!

Here's another King Eric, I have always been and will always be a fan of the world's two best soccer players ever: Marco van Basten (alias God) and Dennis the Menace Bergkamp. So goes without saying it is Arsenal for the EPL. But over all of course the club who have brought Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Frank Rijkaard and dozens more of the world's best players of all times:

AJAX Amsterdam

I think anyone who knows me will attest that I am a huge Madrid fan. Our team has become abit of a joke in recent years though, but the one positive about this is that we have got much more coverage of our games over here in Australia. I remember the days when I could only follow live commentary on the Net. My secondary teams in Spain are Valladolid and Espanyol.
And my 2nd favorite team overall is Liverpool. After so many dour years under Houllier it was great to seem them have some success this year.

My one and only team is Liverpool FC, since 1988 when my very first match, they lost to
Wimbledon in the FA Cup :(
Nevertheless, they bounced back to achieve a League and Cup double the following year.

In 2001, they won the Treble.
2005 they became Champions of Europe for the 5th time and was awarded the Badge of Honour, as well as keep the European Cup! :)
In 2006, they won their 7th FA Cup title too! 8-)

Still supporting The Hornets after 10 years in Singapore. Badly need a win so glad to be travelling to Anfield this Saturday where we won (our only Premiership away game of the season) in 2000.

2nd team is anyone playing Manchester United

Got to see anfield one last time before coming out to Singapore - played West Ham - won 2-0, it was a beautiful day!
