Is there a reader's club here?

I can be contacted at

Noticed it a tad too late

personally i'm an avid reader... but even though i am a local, i can't seem to find any readers' club... and i'm looking for one... why don't you set up one? me and my friends are intending to set up a club for history discussion sessions, where we discuss ancient stories. does that appeal to you? pls email me if you are interested.
I'm so stupid that I surprise myself sometimes...

Hey Samatha and whatalark,
When I first posted the note, I was looking for a club where I could get people around to discuss what's new and share their experiences; we could have a meeting every fortnight and discuss a book each time.
Perhaps even get someone ...a writer or sort to discuss any book. What do you guys think?
I am open to suggestions.
Yes, I could start a club, to begin with; I could set a website for publicity and we could get going. In the meantime we could start thinking of ideas and perhaps brainstorm as to what we want out of this.
Lemme knw
Cheers,
Kats

Hi,
Have been looking for a Readers Club / Book Club for a while.
We should each choose the same book, read it for a while and then discuss afterwards over a coffee or tea.
If you guys do plan something give me a shout.
I am currently reading the Da Vinci Code.
My e-mail is:
[email protected]
(I am not swiss, but used to live there years back and liked this user id as lot so i kept it).

Hey Swiss,
Yes thats exactly on my mind too; however, I was wondering if we could get everyone(assuming that we get more people interested in this club) to be interested in the same author/book or subject for that matter.
Samatha and her friends, for instance like ancient history.
So in those lines, I was thinking of having a website and having several sections (forum/blog style) where people can start their own threads under each section. This way we can cover more and get more people actively participate.
Then at a much later stage, have a fortnightly members' get together or sort where we can acknowledge books/author or just have an open discussion.
Anyways, this came up after me discussing with a friend of mine.
Lets keep this alive. More brainstorming please. In the meantime those who are interested can you guys send me an email with your contacts(email address and name) will do for now , so that when something solid comes out this (hopefully soon) I can contact you all.
Cheers,
Kats

hey.. as for me and my friends, we are part of the school's history society founders.. but we are willing to join the discussions externally. generally we hold our discussions either in school or at maccafe over a nice cup of coffee. 8)
we generally discuss about all aspects of history. generally we are capable of dicussing civilisations from around 6000bc till today. i specialise in ancient eqypt, rome, greece, tudor england and the russian revolution. my friends all have their own specialties...
if you guys don't mind having discussions with a group of 17 yr old locals than please inform me... thanks

I'm so stupid that I surprise myself sometimes...

Wow Samantha,
I am impressed!
I am still wondering if I should go blog style wherein a topic can be started each time and members respond to it or I should get a proper forum in which case I will need someone to get some server space.
Will revert to you guys soon. In the meantime get your ideas brewing too; any sort of inputs that you think can contribute is appreciated.
Cheers,
Kats
PS: Someone private messaged me whihc I am unable to view. :S

There are brokers for these. Use google. Note that particular category has no voting rights I believe.
