Visa for Vietnam - anyone got experience?

Post by Kurt » Wed, 30 Nov 2005 2:40 pm

Hi

Am planning to go to VN pretty soon - any idea how long it takes to apply for a visa? Can I just go to the embassy and pick one up?
(am going as a tourist).

cheers
kurt

Kurt,
There are two tiers of visa applications , express and normal.

Express is 2 to 3 days, normal is up to a week. It's all pretty vague and depends on how busy they are. You will need 2 passport photos as well, and you have to leave your passport with the embassy while the visa application takes place. There is no visa on arrival in Vietnam.

I did mine through a travel agent, who collects and returns your passport at little extra cost. I don't know the exact price as it was bundled up with the flight cost.

Enjoy

Hi Kurt,

If you're S'porean you don't require to apply for Visa to vist Vietnam, unless you intend to stay there for more then 6 months.

Cheers!
