Hi guys! Pls give me a low down on this. I received an E-Mail this week regarding a Cabin Crew sseion to be held in KL under Varia Bernas Sdn Bhd. I think this one's an agency. I also heard from another thread that SQ will be having an Open Day sort of thing in KL. Wonder if this is it? I've replied back to that E-Mail asking which airlines are they representing but no answer yet. Any comments? Tks!!!

I am attending the Qatar Airways Open Day on Sunday, are you? Did you attend the SQ one? How was it?

Why does a DD bus need cabin crews anyway?
In order to receive, you have to believe that you have received. (The Secret)

Possibly they mean a driver and a conductor, using the words cabin crew is possibly a mistranslation of English. Although I find it unusual that a bus company would recruit conductors these days as anywhere else they are either non-existent or being phased out. Unless by buses it is meant coach services in which case they sometimes have stewards, perhaps that is the reason for the confusion.

I heard there's an express bus service which is using only double deckers having first class service on their journeys. They even provide meals onboard and guess that's where the 'cabin crew' comes in. I'm not sure if this is true but my vague memory tell me I've heard this from a fellow schoolmate some time ago.

yes, such a bus can be found at
www.aeroline.com.sg or without the .sg if i'm not mistaken
cheers!
as for the open day, its probably a rumour? or it might come later in this year. a recent call for application in SQ recruitment expired two weeks ago.

Oh, actually if you do some research, you would know in a flash that the ad is for a BUS COMPANY not an AIRLINE. Why "cabin crew?" - Basically the concept is like having a cabin crew onboard - The buses ply the SIN-KUL route so it's like a 4 hour journey. The "cabin crew" onboard do meal service so basically that's how they coined the term. The experience they are trying to eluminate is like going on flight =)
Hope it clarifies.

Guys! To settle the query, I have called the agency and yes, its a post for a coach. I just thought that 'twas an airline ad, coz its under the airline category search in jobsdb. I'm relieved! Cos Im seriously thinking of coming only for that puspose MNL-SIN to KL. Sigh!!!

Reading through the messages just make me laugh because I took the Aeroline coach before from KL to Singapore and I was so amused by the way the operate- as if they were an airline. First, my ticket was printed like an airline ticket, with the black text and the glossy finishing, then it had the words "BOARDING PASS" on it (LOL). Then I asked my friend, "Hmm I wonder which gate we should go to to board the plane?!" LOL
On the bus there was a male "cabin crew" (yes that is what they call him - cabin crew!), and prior to the commencement of the journey, he actually spoke over the microphone things like "Welcome onboard Aeroline coach from KL to Singapore.. bla bla bla (LOL just like in an airline).. We hope you have a pleasant journey." He also brought us warm towels, mineral water in bottles, and we had a lunch pack!
So you know it was really like a "cabin crew" on a plane. The only part missing is of course the plane, and the part where the cabin crew demonstrates how to wear the life jacket and oxygen mask!
So stop wondering about why cabin crew is needed on the bus. It does happen. LOL But the consolation is that the bus tickets are much more expensive than those from Pudu and you would expect to be serving business people mostly.
LOL

With global warming you might need both of those before long.

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.
