Hi all, I was advised by a consultant that using foundation could protect our face from pollutants entering the pores and at the same time, I was advised by another consultant that most foundation will clog the pores. Anyone could advise me whether it is good to use foundation or not? Thank u!

Ettusaid, Jap brand under Shiseido specialises in make up and skincare for acne plagued skin. You can find Ettusais counters at Isetan Scotts (level 2 outside Mango), Isetan wisma. It is really goood!!

Try the new mineral makeups on the market! I am using hte bare escentuals kit and I am using it in humid singapore and it does not melt off or disappear during the day!!! Bare Minerals is another brand but i dont know if these are in Singapore yet. They are very light coverage though and make your skin look flawless and like you are not wearing any makeup.

Actually, I was mistaken about the company names, I am sorry. Bare Minerals is the mineral makeup made by Bare Escentuals company. I use another brand called Sheer Cover mineral makeup. I bought my Kit for $30 US dollars in the US and it is supposed to be a 3 month supply. But I have had it more than a year and have used it only occassionally as i wear makeup 2-3 times a month. Now, companies such as Avon, loreal, Neutrogena, Almay and other makeup brands have all come out with mineral makeup too in the US.
I dont know if these are in Singapore yet or not.

I've recently switched to mineral makeup and it's been pretty good on my skin. I have super-sensitive skin and before I discovered mineral makeup, I must have tried a hundred different foundations, but they all made my skin red and raised and spotty by the end of the day.

Mineral makeup has many pros -- it is cheap if you buy the right brands, it's good for sensitive skin and it provides great coverage. It also provides protection from the sun. On the downside, you do have to experiment with a few brands and formulations before you find something that suits you and it can exacerbate dry flaky skin and fine lines.

I have tried Pure Luxe (great colours, but made me break out), Joppa (good for my skin but colour match wasn't that great), Signature minerals, Everyday Minerals and Lumiere. I am currently using Joppa, Signature and Lumiere. Try googling these brands and check out their websites to see if mineral makeup is something that you might consider.
