I have a serious mold problem in my apartment. It's growing on everyting - wood furniture, leather shoes and jackets, clothing - even the walls.
I clean it up as soon as I notice it, but it comes back within a day or two.
I do not use the air con very often, but leave the windows and closet doors open nearly 24 hours a day. Should I use the air con more often? How often?
Can anyone recommend something to use on surfaces to prevent mold growth?
Any recommendations for mold-free storage of seasonal clothing?
Thank you

If I was you, I would look for another place to live, mold can be very damaging to the lungs I believe!

The mold is occuring due to the high humidity (so opening windows and doors ain't really going to solve the problem).
if you don't want to run the air con, maybe try buying a de-humidifer.
they sell these in the USA where if you live in the suburbs most people own one for the basement.

I use 'Thirsty Hippo' which prevents mould in the cupboards, useful for clothings and shoes, you can get them at any supermarkets, it comes in a container form.

I don't know what to say about the humidity in the bulk of the house but definitely the Thirsty Hippos in the closet is a good start.
I had my first experience with Singapore mold over the past month. It was foul.
The Hippos I bought have helped massively.

You can kill the mold on the walls by using a paint roller to roll on diluted household bleach. Kills the mold and whitens the walls. The mold has to spread from somewhere and the walls could be a culprit.
