Relocating to Singapore

My friend has got a job offer of 4200 x 13 singapore dollars. Is this a good enough salary for a IT Professional with 6-7 years of experience. My friend is a Technical Writer. Also, what is a typical house rent for a 2 bedroom furnished house?

What do you mean by 4,200 x 13 SGD? 54600 SGD per annum?

And what do you mean about whether it's good enough for your friend? Did you mean that "Is it within the acceptable industry range?" If this is what you meant, then check out this guide:

About the rental, are you talking about a landed house or a condominium unit?

I mean is 4200 singapore dollars a good enough salary for a person with 6-7 years of experience in the IT industry. My friend is a Technical Writer. The PDF doesn't specifically tells about technical writers, but if I use the benchmark for a Software Engineer it says for a person between 3-5 yrs; the salary can be between 3000 - 5000, and QA Analyst is 3000-6000.

You also did not indicate your country of origin. I know it shouldn't matter but this is Singapore so unfortunately it does matter quite a bit.

A two-bedroom house will be well out of reach at that salary, but a two-bedroom flat should be okay (depending on the area and which type of building your friend chooses)...

Salary rate is also depends on his education, previous employer and country of origin,,,i know an IT guy (4800 SGD) with 12 years experience who is from India and another IT guy from Germany (6500SGD) with 4 years experience,,both working in a local SGcompanies,,,first one used to work in India in local companies taking quiet good position,,,the second one for his 4 years used to work in international companies...

reg apartments in SG...if you are not on the package - HDB is enough, 2 bedroom can rent from 1000 SGD and up,,,private apt will cost from 2200 SGD and up...but if he is young and single person,,,can share condo or private apt with a friends...
