Hello:

I'm a latin american that just relocated to Singapore to work for 2 years. Would like to meet people and make new friends. Any latinos around here? I like bike riding and running. Anyone who would like to go for a ride or run?

Quite surprised about lot of people interested here in learning spanish but so few spanish/latin people around.

so few spanish/latin people around.

Well, actually there are quite a number of Latinos in Singapore and you'll notice them especially during fiesta time
and in the salsa clubs like Union Square at The Amara, Brix on Sundays, Movida and Cuba Libre.

Something to look forward to is the upcoming “Festival Mexicano 2007”

ultimamente he conocido varios en las fiestas de NUS (Universidad Nacional de Singapore) que estan estudiando por aca (maetria, PH.d).

aparte de los grupos que mencionan arriba (los cuales no conocia, ) esta la escuela "Las Lilas" tel: 6333 3484 web: www.laslilasschool.com en donde hacen varias actividades.

When I was in Miami, I was mistaken for a Costa Rican. For god only knows what reason! Probably, I was cursing (quite fluently, I may add) in Spanish. I guess we look similar (being dark, swarthy looking myself) My best buds are Nicaraguan and Spaniard. Only one of them is here while the other got married and moved to Mexico.

My language skills are rudimentary at best. But if there is one thing I can do well in Spanish is curse like a nativo, order alcohol in estilo, and feista like a loco!

well.. for a starter i am at lingo language school. 3rd lesson already. still catching up. any latinas/latinos would like to teach me or perhaps dance with me? hehehe...

I hope you will do well with your Spanish classes, it is a beautiful language. I will probably join the Spanish group next month. I can still understand a conversation quite well but I have difficulties expressing myself because I have not practiced for three years.
