FNDC: 24th October @ Cable Car Bar from 8.30PM

A little bird whispered in my ear that Cable Car Bar is open again! This used to be the favourite bar of one of our organisers who we haven't seen for a while (Pockets where are you?!?

) so I'm setting this week's FNDC there in a not-so-sly attempt to lure her back

Venue: Cable Car Bar
Address: 49 Cuppage Road, Cuppage Terrace
Time: 8.30ish

Cuppage Terrace is behind Centrepoint at the back of Cuppage Rd which is off Orchard Rd between Emerald Hill (Peranakan Place) and Koek/Killiney Rd.

Nearest MRT is Somerset - take the Orchard Rd exit, cross Orchard Rd and turn right (walking with the direction of traffic). Pass Centrepoint and Cuppage Rd is next on the left - head up it and continue to the top of the hill. Cable Car is on the left.

Taxi - tell the driver Centrepoint/Cuppage Road at Orchard Rd.

I haven't made a booking but will let the staff know who we are so they can point us out to any newbies. Otherwise, feel free to call/msg me on 81369224 if you can't find us or the place. We'll try to get some of the tables outside.

Hoping to see new and old friends alike over a few pints on Friday night

PS; I know it's Oktoberfest and I promised we'd go to a German bar but you should know by now that I'm fickle. Maybe next week - we can do an Oktoberfest Halloween Night Drinking Club

Doctor God!!! I have been hidding in my tequila land, trying to stay away from you before I get infected by your alcoholic bugs and gonna pay AA a visit

but will be out tomorrow cos I'm soooo glad that Cable Car is back !!!

Hey all,
I'm new to Singapore and looking forward to meeting a couple of new friends tonight.

Just one question: what's the dress code for bars here in Singapore? As I just moved here from LA, I would naturally show up in shorts and Flip-flops, if that's alright...

Hiya - shorts and flip-flops (they call them slippers here) are fine for pubs and most bars. It's only if you want to go clubbing afterwards where you need to think about what to wear. The after-FNDC party quite often ends up at such establishments so if you're planning on making a night of it then maybe put some 'proper' shoes in your bag. I'm not sure about the acceptance of shorts at clubs here - one of the regular clubbers might like to pip in - but it's probably ok for the ladies.

Shorts were OK though.

So did I, but my boss 'kindly' let me leave end of Oct - makes it easier for them if I leave end of month, rather than in the middle! Then I have a weeks holidays, so not sure if I will leave that weekend or later that week.
