Foriegn naval ships stopping here

I wonder if it's possible to find out what countries get shore leave for their Naval vessels. I now the U.S. does and have met with quite a few of these guys and gals.

I think it would be interesting to meet crew from some other countries but don't feel comfortable poking around too much.

I have seen Japanese ships in at the same time as the US carrier group was in, and I have seen French ships there before. I have never seen anything on the MINDEF website(s) that announce these arrivals, though.

I went to MINDEF and got the idea to search Wikipedia. By searching for Thai Navy Singapore it also shows other Naval vessels operating in the Pacific. (Not sure they all dock here) Looks like the ones listed on the below link perform drills with Singapore. I may just ask at the Thai Embassy if they have any programs like visiting US and British ships have.

Hi Pakjohn,

if you do find out, would you mind posting on here? I would be interested in visiting some of those ships. Went on a US ship once and it was great to see. I really wanted to push a red button though - just one to see what would happen

Will do, the Wikipedia info on the different Naval vessels operating around here have me interested.

It is nothing to do with uniforms (for me anyway) - it is just about being close to military hardware. I guess some guys never grow up. I love it here seeing all the planes fly over as well. Ships, planes, guns and things that go bang - you got a problem with that...bud.

I saw a lot of places during my military tours and only now know how much I missed during my leaves. My son and nephews are all in the military and have given them links to in country hosting. They really appreciate it.

Seems a lot of Thai ships are U.S., I want to see other nations ships but kinda doubt I'll get that chance. Going to try though, what could it hurt?
