I have never heard this correlation before. I am going to say, "NO", but that is purely a guess, and not backed up by any scientific data.

Where did you hear this from, anyway?

Thank you for that weblink, SMS. It was quite interesting. It points out that hairloss is possible through excessive scratching, rather than because of the dandruff condition itself, such as fungus killing off cuticles, or weakening the skin.

Studies have shown that with only 90 minutes of continuous scratching by the fingernails, it is possible to remove all of the cuticular scale...

I think most people are safe from hairloss due to dandruff, though, if this is the only factor.
