PR application rejected

I have submitted my PR application on middle of October.
Recently I have received a letter from ICA state that "We regret to inform you that your application has not been successful. You way wish to re-submit another application for out consideration in 2 years' time."
What should i do now?
Wait for 2 years and apply again?

EP Q1 pass is normally 2 years before one can apply for PR, so if you haven't been here 2 years yet, it will not be considered. The letter is probably a standard format, which is sent out to all that have not yet been here 2 years. Wait until you have been here 2 years then try again!

Actually, the letter reads two years FROM THE LAST PR APPLICATION. Not wait until you have been on a Q pass for two years. The wait two years is more to see if you are a quitter or a stayer. If you are still here after a two year wait and still want PR then they will consider it.

So if you really want it, wait two years and re-apply. If you just apply before that period of time, it's just telling the government that you cannot follow directives very well and they may just use that as a reason to reject it later. I'm not saying that's a fact but give me another reason why they might tell you to wait two years to submit another application.

ksl, that doesn't sound anything like wait until you have been on a Q pass for two years and reapply. The OP didn't tell us how long he has been here in the first place either.

and how long must a S Pass holder wait before applying a PR ? Some people say that the waiting time before we can apply for a PR, is just 6 months.

Before this past Sept, you could possibly get PR after a 6 month stay on and S pass (I've had three of my employees do it. And typically, users that they are, after spending all the money training them up, as soon as they get their PR they quit! However, since the tightening up of criteria, I've had more S pass holder actually not having their S passes renewed when submitted for their renewals (two this month - 21 of Jan it their last day). While they were granted their S passes a year ago, they are being rejected on application for renewal. Kinda sucks.

So, now it's a crap shoot. Nobody knows, but it would seem that all, or put it this way, all that are S & Q pass holders and most P2 holders as well, are getting 6 months to 2 year waits. Guess they are seeing what the economy to going to do. And hopefully, when time for renewals come up they may even be rejected even though approved earlier.

i'm thinking of change job maybe on nex yr mar or apr.
will this affect my pr application after 2 yrs?

It could if your work visa isn't renewed, like some of my staff as I pointed out above. (two months ago I tried to shift 3 staff from one company to another and 2 of them were rejected although they are currently working on an S pass. So, we've left them in the company they are in and they'll stay there until their S passes expire, then they be repatriated. And no, they weren't rejected for quotas, I've been placing new arrivals there all along including 3 PRC's & one S pass holder arriving on this coming monday.

So, I guess it's just how strong your qualifications/experience is in the eyes of MOM and, who knows, if you look to be a job hopper that keeps changing jobs without waiting for their contracts to finish, maybe the MOM will see it as somebody that isn't too concerned with stability and figures that you might not be the right fit for the future of the good of Singapore. Like I said before, right now it's as crap shoot as nobody has any anecdotal evidence to form a trend with. The gamble is yours. How lucky do you feel? Are you, with all the negative and rejections, going to take a chance and possibly throw away your future when you're EP is rejected and you are told to leave the country? It' your gamble.
