Hi,
I am new to the site, and am moving to singapore at the end of the month with my Husband and six month old son. My husband will be working at Raffles Quay, we'd like to stay in
Serviced Apartments nearby, and would welcome so local knowledge on where would be good for us all to stay that's suitable for a young family

Please do a search for Serviced Apartments using the Search function located at the top right of this page located just under the "Profile" link. It's been discussed numerous time recently. Thanks. moderator

Thanks for the tip. I was looking for a recommendation for an area or name of apartments as there are hundreds, to narrow down my search. I am looking for an area that is family orientated with good transport links and close to the CBD

Treetops & Great World City have great facilities for the little ones but less convenient for transport (although your hubby could easily take the bus to the MRT at both locations) - about a 30 minute trip.
Also check out Fraser, Somerset, and Orchard Scotts - all are quite convenient. But definitely the other two if you are new and have a small child. Treetops would be my number one choice.

Fraser Place at Robertson Walk is quite nice for children, they even have a kids club where you can get food, as well as a very child-friendly pool.
Plus you're in a great area to go out for food/drinks or just for a nice walk in general. It would be my #1 choice for location.
I live close-by and although I rate the apartments where I'm at higher than elsewhere, it is not a place designed for families with kids.

Hey Rene,
I am not able to PM, but would love to chat. I am relocating to Singapore from the US at the beginning of June. I have a 4 year old girl and a 6 month old son. We will be living temporarily at Great World City or Fraiser Place (still up in the air due to contracts with each place and my husbands company). Maybe we could help each other out on our new adventure. Please feel free to email me if you would like.
