Finding Apartment in Singapore

I am moving to Singapore in August and this is my first time there. I need help with finding the convenient location for an apartment. I will be working in 28 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069120.



I would be very glad if you could answer my following questions?

1. Which district does 28 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069120 belongs to?

2. Which would be a good district to live ?

3. Which is a closest MRT station to my work?

4. Where do people usually working in this area lives?

Literally everywhere, each person have their own personal taste on location, commuting time, budget etc

Now I know that Tanjong Pagar MRT Station (EW15) is on the East West Line in Singapore. My next question is if you were to choose an apartment which place closest to a MRT Station in East West Line would you choose based on the following requirements:

1. One way commute should not exceed more than 1 hr
2. Close to MRT Station avoiding bus/shuttle transfer
3. Budget should not exceed 2000 per month
4. The closest to the city/EW15 the better
5. Amenities like restaurants/departmental stores etc be in the walking distance from an Apartment

Any help is highly appreciated.

If your preferred choice is near EW15, i am afraid that you will have to take a bus or on foot

3. Budget should not exceed 2000 per month

Your budget of 2000/month will be able to get you quite a decent choices in that area depending on your requirement

4. The closest to the city/EW15 the better

Same as qns 2

5. Amenities like restaurants/departmental stores etc be in the walking distance from an Apartment

Eating house and shops should not be a problem.

WTF? That's the parameter he's giving, why are you just repeating it?

If your preferred choice is near EW15, i am afraid that you will have to take a bus or on foot

Are you saying there are no places to live on any line that will fall into that guideline? He didn't say it had to be around the EW15 station at all. Reading comprehension is not your forte it would appear. He's already told you he would commute up to 1 hour - You can travel from the airport station to the Tuas station in less than 1 hour. That means he could virtually live in any apartment within walking distance to any MRT station and he would be sorted.

Don't rule out renting out an HDB Flat, you can save even more money.

Most MRT stations will have facilities located in, near or above the station all within walking distance. If your apartment/flat is within walking distance you are already sorted.
