Where to live? American 24/M

Moving to Singapore in August 1. Working on Shenton Way near Tanjong Pagar.

Where is the best area to live for twenty-something expats? Would like to be near the MRT, but otherwise pretty flexible.

Seems like most apartments are 2 or 3 bedrooms. Is it common to have roommates? If so, what's the SG equivalent of Craig's List to find roommates?

there is a singapore craigslist. it's not great for finding things to buy, but the housing/room sections have a lot
