Where do you find your travel deals?

Recently moved to SG and thinking of beginning to give my passport a workout in the next couple of months!
I need advice on where you find your cheap travel deals? Any websites? or do you go to a travel agent in Singapore? Or are you part of a credit card program or other loyalty programs (groupon etc) which gives you good deals?

I'm not particularly looking for the world's cheapest holiday.. but looking for a reliable and (ofcourse) cheap way of booking the holidays..
I'll mainly be looking at holidays in Asia. For starters, We're thinking of a 2-3D/1-2N getaway to an island somewhere close to sg in late september or early october. Any suggestions?

We usually just stalk the respective entities's websites. One sighted promo will then trigger a torrent of online searches.

I'd recommend going to the NATAS Travel Fair. They usually hold 2 fairs per year, in Feb and Aug. It's worthwhile to check out the deals there.

Zuji's deals are not "ALWAYS" great ...

Zuji has their special one-off offers, for which you need to watch out ..

The issue with superb offers from most travel agents is, most are 'subject to terms and conditions' which include minimum travel group etc, which they rarely describe ..

we used to partner with Zuji for some inventory ..

I use wotif.com for hotel deals, and do my own searching for flights among the budget airlines...so much depends on travel times with budget airlines...

For me in SG most available tours are '10 countries in 3 days, seafood banquet and visit handicraft shop', $x88pp

So we got used to DIY. In fact that is all we did, never thought of looking at packages.

'So imagine my surprise'.

Air Asia, local long weekend away, got a deal on flight/hotel that seriously undercut anything we could and would have arranged anything ourselves. No tour, no gift shops, just a very very good deal. Worth keeping an eye on...

Wotif is good - similar to laterooms in the UK. Although I've stopped trying to second guess the mystery deals as it doesn't always go to plan!!

The trick with the mystery deals is to look a the venue/room description/amenities and compare with the other deals. Usually there is enough common description to figure out which hotel the mystery deal is at. I've stayed in a suite at the Acapella on Sentosa for $300 a night (UP $1000+!)

That helps when your significant other think you actually spend the rack rate

It boils down to timing sometimes really...

Am always a FIT (not that I'm fit but I try my best to!

) and almost always end up getting my ticket from Misa Travel (airfares.com.sg)

Latest was a ticket to Tokyo on CX in end Oct, SIN-HKG-NRT-HND-HKT-SIN, w/tax 570 and did a stopover in HKG on way back with no extra charges.

Did you really mean HKT - like in Phuket Interntional ??

BTW, saw this site, www.cheaptickets.sg, who also scan through LCC fares ..

Bargain. It's usually that price for a return to HK from SG.
