NCAA (American) Football fans? Places to watch?

Post by illinibub » Fri, 15 Jul 2011 10:32 pm

About to move to SG from the US (Dallas, TX) and wanting to see if anyone knows where to watch NCAA football games... I imagine it would be fairly late on a Saturday night when the games are on, so just looking for people / places to gather and watch... Anywhere on the island works for me

It's pretty tough. I have yet to actually catch one at a pub but I remember seeing signs for the big bowl games being on TVs in some bars.

Usually watching from yours or a buddy's place is your best bet. ESPN3 does not work here unless you go through a VPN. A slingplayer is another good option and what I'm using currently. I can record a game and watch it when I get up or later, if I can stay away from knowing the out come.

Being ~14 hrs ahead, depending which time zone the games played in, that puts game time after midnight for day games. Night games are OK if you don't mind getting up early.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents. Safe travels.

If you have a starhub or a singtel box you can get ASN, they show all the American sports

I also appreciate the tips.
I'm moving to Singapore from the U.S. on October 1st (...so much to do and so few days to prepare!).

For me, the best option was definitely a Slingbox. The cable channels out here are pathetic. I have it hooked up at my parents house and can stream the games live through my computer, which in turn is hooked up to my TV. Haven't been able to find a bar out here that shows them.
