Top end steamboat restaurant?

OK, might just be an oxymoron, and google hasn't helped me much. I've been to quite a few of the steamboat restaurants in and around Bugis, and whilst I love them, my wife does not. She doesn't like being crammed into a tiny table with a dozen other people she doesn't know all trying to share the table space with their over-stocked piles of food.

As such I want to find somewhere that's a bit more expensive, and hopefully a bit less of a bun-fight. Does anyone know of steamboat places that are like this? Or are they all the "all you can eat" kind of affair?

I'll gladly pay more for the priviledge of going there if it means she's happy to come with me...

Perhaps you can try out Coca Restaurant? Haven't try it, but it look pretty good.

I have tried crystal jade @Dhoby ghat and Toa Payoh + J-pot@Vivocity... all are decent...

Definitely give Haidilao Hotpot a go. They have branches all throughout Singapore. The food is great- soup bases are rich and full-bodied, while the ingredients are fresh and of high-quality. Above all, they are known for their service. The service staff go above and beyond to ensure your every need is met. If there is a line while you are waiting to enter, they will seat you outside and offer you free drinks and desserts to sweeten the deal and make waiting less of a bother.
