It seems Amy Cheong's infamy has spread as far as Australia.

I was a little surprised at how quickly LHL threw her to the wolves.

A timely reminder to be careful on FB or at least use a pseudonym.

For all I care she can go back to her kumpong in Malaysia and go see how far racism against Malays get her

Didn't know she was Malaysia born Australian. I think 2 things made the matters worse in her case.
1) she is in a prominent position in a gahmen organisation
2) she is a foreigner

At least she could go back to her country, imagine what choices a citizen will have, no place to hide.

I don't think she's a MC anymore but your point 1 and 2 are true. She REALLY should have known better. Of course now NTUC is quite rightly under the spotlight for having a non Sinkie in this position in the first place!

The Australian Bureau of Statistics might be able to help. They have a lot of online data.

used to be a sizable population. these days, it has been watered down with other migrants. i would say in general malaysian immigrants to be more successful than singaporean immigrants.

also the reason for malaysian/singaporean immigrants coming to australia are different

There was a Malay wedding in our hdb block couple of months back, it took place for 2 days. They played some hit Bollywood music. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed listening to it. There were also Malay girls dancing to the tunes, very cute it was

She probably didn't get enough exposure to Malay culture before she got whisked away to the Oz. I'm saying this in assuming that she grew up in the Oz. Then, whether she was born in Malaysia or not has no significance at all to the discussion.

What always strikes me in the cases like this one is how socially acceptable is hypocrisy. Or even worse, that nobody actually cares what he or she is deep inside as long as it does not surface.

This is what I've read online ..

Amy Cheong, who is in her late thirties, was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but raised in Australia from the age of 8. She became an Australian citizen 10 years ago after her Malaysian passport expired.

She moved to Singapore for work shortly after and obtained permanent residency here.
