Try making eye contact with your son. Does he hold your gaze?
Try showing him pictures of faces showing different emotions, and ask him to describe what he thinks the people are feeling.
If he won't hold your gaze, and can't identify other peoples' emotions, then you should have him evaluated by a doctor. While it is possible that your son just needs more discipline at home, it is also possible that he might have some level of autism. If he does, then there are a lot of interventions that would help him.
Either way, it won't hurt to start giving him yoghurt to eat, or "pro-biotic" pills, on a daily basis too. There is evidence that one thing that is contributing to the increase in autism and certain other conditions nowadays is inflammation of the gut which can be helped with the good bacteria in yoghurt and pro-biotic pills.
