Taiwanese sesame paste is widely available.
Unlike Tahini, it is made from roasted sesame seeds and thus much more tasty. It can be used as replacement.

Just got back from Mustafa, they have every herb and spice under the sun I did see Tahini there, the most amazing thing all the staff knew where everything was located, I asked the watch selling bloke where to find dried pomegranate seeds he knew exactly where it was located.
