This is the part that I am most concern. To me, HK is a very exciting city but with my current workload, I hardly have time to experience all the excitment.Parsley wrote:Not to discourage you, but 99% of people/expats from or have lived in HK prefers life in HK than here in SG, except those with family ...

I believe that the kind of things you do, and the kind of people you meet, all depend on your own cultural exposure and your social status, regardless of where you live. So, I wouldn't worry about the social environment here, if I were you. Just look forward to meeting new people if your new job is worth doing. But, but... if you are someone who insists on having the same food, the same language, etc... everywhere you go, then it'll be hard to live here, or anywhere outside HK.
I may be reading you wrongly. Tell me if I've misunderstood you, but are you saying that Malaysians are inferior to us, Hongkongers? And can you please enlighten me on how it could be 'bad' to expand the nationalities of one's friends?AmadeusCho wrote:Be aware that about 75% of the Canto group here aren't from HK. There's a few regulars from Malaysia who always post here. This can be or bad, depending on whether or not you prefer HK ppl, or you want to expand the nationalities of your friends.
I agree with the above- I also find most HK prefer HK to SG. Having said that, I do know some HK who have stayed in SG and their kids are pretty Singaporean, but with a Cantonese slant
