I agree with the above- I also find most HK prefer HK to SG. Having said that, I do know some HK who have stayed in SG and their kids are pretty Singaporean, but with a Cantonese slant
I may be reading you wrongly. Tell me if I've misunderstood you, but are you saying that Malaysians are inferior to us, Hongkongers? And can you please enlighten me on how it could be 'bad' to expand the nationalities of one's friends?
I do not mean that Malaysians are inferior to HK ppl. I meant some of the frequent posters were Malaysian, and not from HK. My parents are Malaysian.

This topic is about Hong Kong people coming to Singapore.
It could be bad if you really wanted to get viewpoint from, and meet people from Hong Kong only. I've spoken to some people from various countries and some of them prefer to meet with people from their own country. It's not unusual, despite the sensitiveness of some people. And I've found that many HK people really do like living in HK. Much more so than SG'ns who often tell me that life is "so much better in Australia".
It's GOOD if you like to meet a lot of people from other countries, then it's great- canto meetings have asians from all other places.
But if you are a HK person and want to meet other HK ppl, who are, afterall, your own people (the same way japanese might want to talk with other japanese people, or koreans might want to talk with koreans, or americans might want to talk with other americans) and will have similar language, slang, viewpoints etc, then you arent going to find it as easy to do so, as a lot of the frequent posters are not actually from HK, but other countries like Malaysia.

Alright, sounds like this forum is a good place to start making new friends. Will certainly look out for events happening around here after I land.
), chat over coffee in cantonese and drink cantonese soup....(oh boy...i can go on and on)! But I must say that I have met some really nice Singaporeans, Malaysians and Indonesians here who turn out to be great friends of mine.
