Singlish is still around among the older generation locals.

Its because a few decades back many of them were chinese educated , and english was made compulsory, they learnt this english. Singlish came about because of their usage of the mandarin and chinese slang juxtaposing with english.

And go look at the schools now, they arent talking singlish any more now..

the show phua chu kang starring gurmit singh ( an indian) is an old rerun of the 1990s aired in the afternoons to keep schoolchildren occupied. They find it funny...

its a cultural change now with western influence here in singapore.

Depending on who u mix with i fu are from the older gen , u will adopt this singlish from them..


and yah dont be too happy about the foreign labour policy of the sg govt. The foreign talents is a curtain pulled over my eyes, as wel as over yours indians eyes to blind us from the truth .

U are all not here as talents, u are all here as cheap workers to save the economy for the time being, When the world comes up with a unified solution and singapore gains to benefit , then thats the end of u indians,

u will go back to the rot hole which u came from. u are here becos the other developed western countries dont want to give u a PR that easily

i jolly well know about this gov in and out for the last 2 decades, as far as my memory serves me, during those times it was run by the "old guards" , the pioneers who build stable policies for the time period raging from the 1960s-1990s. They are different bunch like our late president Ong teng cheong who build the MRT train system infrastructure

What u find now is different. The gov has changed from a caring to being blood thirsty.

You are right there. Where ever Singaporeans go they stay in little clusters and don't mingle with the local population at all. There was an article in the papers about that recently. Seems that they do that because their versions of English (Singlish) is unintelligible to everybody else and they don't know how to speak proper English. And there you go again, you really don't know the difference between bad English and a strong accent. Your really ARE pretty dense aren't you.
