Has anyone been to Pollen?

Pollen's food is decorative, similar to most celebrity restaurants. As expected, the tasting menu doesn't come cheap.

My favorite part is, after dinner, you can pop upstairs and get access to the Dome, after it is closed. There is enough lights to get around, and its really nice to enjoy the non-crowded Dome with a glass of wine, slowly strolling.

I'd better PM you or tell you when you get here, don't want to get hit for slamming the place publicly (though I will via HGW and Yelp).

There are a couple of good Mexican places, but they are not in Duxton or Robertson Walk.

The only remotely decent one I've had in Singapore was the one at Haji Lane and Beach Rd. And even that wasn't anything amazing. If it was in California you wouldn't go back more than once unless it was due to convenience.

I had the best steamed dumplings I've ever eaten so far, and it outdoes din tai Fung hands down.
Polished off 3 sets of 7 steamed heaven coated me 12$ for the lot.
It's near Ikea Alexandra, in the food court.
Their spicy Sichuan noodle soups are excellent too.

I don't have the best taste buds for Mexican but I personally like El Patio in contrast to Cha Cha Cha, Cafe Iguana and the likes. I hope I hit the right place, or is there a real Mexican place I should really try?

Margarita's in Siglap isn't bad , a bit pricey , it also has a real ale pub just across the road.

El Rochos on Circular Road behind Boat isnt bad either, well the burrito I had was OK.

Nope, that's further up the road. Assuming we are talking about the same bar it's a micro brewery rather than a real ale place. The couple of times I've been I wasn't impressed with service. Can't think of the name.

Nope, someone already fixed you on that though. Margarita's is right near to Telok Kurau. It's very near to Penny University, by far the best coffee shop in East Coast, of not all of Singapore east of Jalan Besar.
