Whenever “Westlake” is mentioned to any Singaporean born before 1980 and who grew up in the west, it always invokes feelings of nostalgia and fondness. Many would have been to the 40-year-old tze char (Hokkien for cooked food) restaurant with their families for dinner at least once in their lives if not more.It is a childhood experience that still exists for them today as the restaurant has been at the same location under the HDB block 4, Queen’s Road for decades and in Singapore, where everything is ever-changing, that in itself is quite a feat. Even after four decades, the food never ceases to impress.Apart from Hokkien, Cantonese and Sze Chuan cuisines, the restaurant also serves various seafood, Beijing dim sum and local snacks, which are popular among diners in and out of Singapore. The signature dish "Westlake Braised Pork with Pau" is a traditional delicacy that cannot be missed whether it is for dine in, take away, festive banquets or outdoor catering.MUST TRIES: Kong bak pau, Szechuan Kung pao chicken, Szechuan hot and sour soup, Chinese dumplings, Westlake Steamed Beancurd
